Story
It began as a personal memoir for her son. Reflecting one day on her 10 years of post-9/11 military service, Marjorie K. Eastman wanted to capture the lessons and inspiration she'd learned serving beside men and women who represent the very best of what it means to be American: dedication to a job well done, selflessness, character, and a belief that one person can make a difference.

New Insights and Leadership
Reviewed: 10-12-18
I read this book over a year ago. Now, after listening to it again, I am able to really feel Marjorie K Eastman's incredible telling of her experiences. My father died prior to my having many of the questions I would have asked if I could see him face to face today. Questions like what was it like day to day? What were those feelings when you were away? What motivated you to serve? Marjorie brought me just a bit closer to a very foreign place. More than that, the commitments to volunteerism, looking out for others and setting goals as a leader no matter the setting are inspiring.
