Historia
Renée Ballard works the night shift in Hollywood, beginning many investigations but finishing none, as each morning she turns her cases over to day shift detectives. A once up-and-coming detective, she's been given this beat as punishment after filing a sexual harassment complaint against a supervisor. But one night she catches two cases she doesn't want to part with: the brutal beating of a prostitute left for dead in a parking lot and the killing of a young woman in a nightclub shooting. Ballard is determined not to give up at dawn.

Good read!
Revisado: 01-15-19
I enjoyed this book very much. However, I did not care for the narrator. I don't know if she always sounds like this, very clipped and monotone, or if that was how she believed the character would sound. But to be fair despite the fact I didn't care for her narration the book pulled me in and I finished it in record time!

Historia
Eric disappeared when he was three years old. Ben looked away for only a second at the grocery store, but that was all it took. His brother was gone. Vanished right into the sticky air of the Florida Panhandle. They say you've got only a couple days to find a missing person. Forty-eight hours to conduct searches, knock on doors, and talk to witnesses. Two days to tear the world apart if there's any chance of putting yours back together. That's your window. That window closed five years ago, leaving Ben's life in ruins.

Really like this book. It drew me in and kept me wondering what would happen next. Surprise ending. Epilogue almost made me cry.

Epic!
Revisado: 05-09-18
Well this was an eye opener. Definitely not the movie. This really fleshed out the characters and if you've ever watched the movie, the movie doesn't even scratch the surface especially in regards to the characters. It brings them boldly to life. I actually found myself having likes and dislikes about them and their actions. It's a long story but well worth the time.

Historia
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

Great Read!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. I want to point out that Roy Dotrice did an excellent job with his narration, I just prefer one "voice". Regardless I did enjoy the book and I plan on listening to the remaining books.
