It started a little slow, but once I finally got into the story it was an enjoyable listen. I had never heard about these farms so it was interesting to learn about them.

This story was well written and made me think about the moral implications of smuggling. I'm glad she added the note at the end of the book about how smuggling was more commonplace back then. But, I admit that I had a harder time rooting for the main characters in this book because of those illegal activities they were involved with.

I enjoyed the main book, the story was interesting and the narrator did a fine job.
The Captain's Christmas Promise was okay, just seemed not well developed, but that's how novellas usually are.
