Boring and lifeless

I was not charmed by this book the lack of true suspense and tension left me wanting. The narration has little intonation, duh dut dah dut day dut...ugh. The characters are flat with no thrill or joy for life.

Story
Dellarobia Turnbow is a restless farm wife who gave up her own plans when she accidentally became pregnant at 17. Now, after a decade of domestic disharmony on a failing farm, she encounters a shocking sight: a silent, forested valley filled with what looks like a lake of fire. She can only understand it as a cautionary miracle, but it sparks a raft of other explanations from scientists, religious leaders, and the media.

You’ve never met the other wives. None of you know each other, and because of this unconventional arrangement, you can see your husband only one day a week. But you love him so much you don’t care. Or at least that’s what you’ve told yourself. But one day, while you’re doing laundry, you find a scrap of paper in his pocket—an appointment reminder for a woman named Hannah, and you just know it’s another of the wives.

Frustrating and unsatisfying

This story is disrespectful of people with mental health issues and those who have suffered miscarriage . It feels poorly written with one crisis popping after another up to distract you from the uninspired storyline.
