Story
For all those transmortis anomalies that need to be exterminated, there's Karma Marx - a woman who exorcises haunted houses, sending troublesome spirits to the ever after. What she'd really like is to banish Spider, her cheating, sleazy realtor husband, from her life. So, she makes him a deal: she'll clean one last home for him if he grants her a divorce. The only problem is that Adam, the house's former owner, isn't happy with Karma's plan. Using his poltergeist powers, he seals the place, forcing Karma, Spider, and a motley assortment of characters together....

I hate everyone in this story.
Reviewed: 08-07-22
The narrator is incredibly talented, all of the voices were unique to the characters. Each annoying unique and made me hate them for different reasons. GOD. Even her father! I hate him the most! The teenager has bipolar disorder, the most annoying features of it you could imagine. She even renames herself like Lola. The main character is a weak, spineless, idiot. By the end of the second chapter, I had no sympathy left for her. The husband is named spider and is thrice as loathsome. This book is ragebait.

I don't care if this book is for children.
Reviewed: 07-15-22
Reading this series has healed my inner child and allowed me to feel and process the pain of a difficult childhood. At first glance, it's a whimsical story of a magical world and a normal, clumsy girl beating all the odds and getting in to the world's best school of magic. Below that surface is a talented young girl allowing herself to finally feel the pain of being left behind by her father, accepting that he is his own, broken person, and that that fact is NOT her fault. That, altogether with a soothing orchestra guiding you through the adventure. This addition to the series is a gem on its own, but I cannot wait to see where the author takes us next.

Story
Some days, a girl just can't catch a break......especially when the girl in question is Georgina Kincaid, a shape-shifting succubus who gets her energy from seducing men. First there's her relationship with gorgeous best-selling writer Seth Mortensen, which is unsatisfying on a number of levels. It's not just that they can't have sex in case Georgina inadvertently kills him (generally a turn-off for most guys). Lately, even spending time together is a challenge.

I didn't think you could write exactly how it feels when your soul rips in two, but Richelle Mead certainly knows how. Wow. Just wow. This book is soaked in pain, but that just made it so much better.

Twice he has been close to the altar and still no duchess. Will the third time be the charm? A duke can't marry just anyone. His wife must be of good family, be fertile, and be young. Struggling playwright Sarah Pettijohn is absolutely the last woman Gavin Whitridge, Duke of Baynton, would ever fall in love with. However, there is something about her that stirs his blood, which makes her perfect for a bargain he has in mind: In exchange for backing her play, he wants Sarah to teach him about love.

You can't go wrong with Mary Jane Wells reading! The ending seemed to have hurriedly progressed at least the chapters, into the final chapter, which I hated. Why can't me know more about their future together? Their wedding? Anything!

Unbearable, unfinishable.

First off, some of the pronunciations of words like "water" are grating when spoken by this author. And words like that happen all the time. The main character and the Russian love interest have ZERO CHEMISTRY, and its actively painful listening to the author force this man onto a woman who can do lightyears better. She has VERY DAMN GOOD REASONS to want this guy out of her life forever. And yet he stalks her, and she just randomly gets sexual urges towards him? WTF.
He "refuses" to let her out of their past relationship (insinuating she needs his permission) railroads her into multiple decisions that puts her life and her sisters' lives' in danger, and refuses to give her the time she desperately needs to get over the ptsd that HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR. HE GOT HER TORTURED BY GOVERNMENT GOONS IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY. That's a far cry from forgivable, much less romantic, this poor girl needs therapy, not this awful character. I really don't know why Christine of all authors is trying to romanticize emotional abuse and manipulation. Shame on her.

A cheeky southern peek at paranormal mainstreaming
Reviewed: 04-01-17
A fun and easy read for those just dipping their toes into the world of paranormal romance, not as many sex scenes as normal romances, and more of a brief novel than one may be accustomed to. The voice actress uses her talents well, however crybaby Bob's accent was a little too ambiguous.
