Story
For 16-year-old Dan Crawford, a summer program for gifted students is the chance of a lifetime. No one else at his high school gets his weird fascinations with history and science, but at the New Hampshire College Prep program, such quirks are all but required. Dan arrives to find that the usual summer housing has been closed, forcing students to stay in the crumbling Brookline dorm - formerly a psychiatric hospital.

Hard to get into
Reviewed: 08-12-20
This book was a little hard to get into. I tried several times to read it but this time I pushed myself to finish it. Once I got into it, I really enjoyed it. I already downloaded the second book in the series.

Story
Clary Fray just wants her life to go back to normal - but that turns out to be impossible. For one thing, her mother is still in the hospital, in a mysterious coma. For another, she and her brother, Jace, have fallen under a cloud of suspicion now that the Shadowhunter world knows that Valentine is still alive - and that Jace and Clary are his son and daughter.

Needs new narrator!
Reviewed: 06-04-16
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I would either go back to the first narrator or get one that can do an English accent! Jayce, Isabelle, Alec and Luke are all Englsh and she didn't use an accent at all with these characters. She was able to do the Spanish accent for Raphael but couldn't do an English accent?
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Natalie Moore?
Anyone ho could do an English accent!

Story
I wondered what my life would have been like if we had never moved to the ho-dunk town of Spring Valley, Illinois. Sure the internet service was splotchy, there was nothing but miles of wheat fields, and I probably wouldn't be faced with death at every corner. My only neighbor in this god-forsaken town was...well there really was only one to describe him, hot as hell. With his sinful dark looks, unusually silver eyes, and kissable lips, there was something about him that was more than meets the eye.

The story line and plot are awesome! Bad narration

Would you consider the audio edition of Saving Angel to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print version but I wish I had. The story itself is very good. The narrator, I thought, was terrible. Very bland and not a lot of intonation. Didn't give much life to the characters.
Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite character is definitely Lexi. I love the way her personality was so cheerful and so accepting of Angel.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Very monotone with the characters.
Any additional comments?
I do plan on continuing with the series but in print instead of audio due to the narrator. I wish I could return the book and get my credit back.

Same headline as the last review-HORRIBLE NARRATOR
Reviewed: 10-05-15
What did you like best about Shadow Kiss? What did you like least?
I liked the plot of the story but Kristine Hvam pretty much ruined it for me.
What didn’t you like about Khristine Hvam’s performance?
Her performance of Rose actually made me dislike Rose. Also, she doesn't use any kind of Russian accent for Dimitri! She is awful!!!
Was Shadow Kiss worth the listening time?
If there had been a different narrator, it would have been worth it.
Any additional comments?
Get rid of Kristine!!!!

Story
It's winter break at St. Vladimir's, but Rose is feeling anything but festive. A massive Strigoi attack has put the school on high alert, and now the Academy's crawling with Guardians - including Rose's hard-hitting mother, Janine Hathaway. And if hand-to-hand combat with her mom wasn't bad enough, Rose's tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason's got a huge crush on her, and Rose keeps getting stuck in Lissa's head while she's making out with her boyfriend, Christian!

Horrible Narrator!
Reviewed: 10-05-15
Would you listen to Frostbite again? Why?
Definitely not! I absolutely fell in love with Stephanie Wolf as Rose. She really made me care about the character. When Stephanie was replaced with Kristine Hvam, her performance actually made me dislike Rose. She was horrible. Plus, she made it very difficult to differentiate characters due to her lack of accents (like Dimitri).
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
New narrator!
Would you be willing to try another one of Khristine Hvam’s performances?
Absolutely, positively, unequivocally no! (not just a no, but a giant HELL NO!!!)
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No!
Any additional comments?
Kristine Hvam should either never be hired to narrate a book again or she should take some intense acting classes for a long time! Plus, she needs to learn how to do accents. Dimitri was Russian and Kristine played him like an American-no accent at all!!!

The narrator of the first three (or anyone else but her for that matter)
