This book is not anything like the first couple of books. Goes on and on and goes nowhere. After half a dozen chapters I am returning the book.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Malone and his crew are the smartest, the toughest, the quickest, the bravest, and the baddest - an elite special unit given carte blanche to fight gangs, drugs, and guns. Every day and every night for the 18 years he's spent on the job, Malone has served on the front lines, witnessing the hurt, the dead, the victims, the perps.

very little dialog

It was a strange book. Most the conversation was detective Malone's own thoughts which were mostly unnecessary. The book should have been edited another 30%.

Very predictable and poorly written.
Reviewed: 01-12-18
The whole story is very predictable and is written in a very amateur style. Everything in the book is marketing 101, business 101, sales 101 and maybe that is giving it to much credit. It may be more high school level. I would not recommend this one.
“Get a Grip” is a much better choice for a business fictions book with very practical applications.

Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

This book was so well written it was worth the listen just for the writing. The story, mostly about trying to end your life, was strangely addicting. I think it is a love / hate book, nothing in-between.

After a long and eventful life, Allan Karlsson ends up in a nursing home, believing it to be his last stop. The only problem is that he's still in good health, and in one day, he turns 100. A big celebration is in the works, but Allan really isn't interested (and he'd like a bit more control over his vodka consumption). So he decides to escape. He climbs out the window in his slippers and embarks on a hilarious and entirely unexpected journey, involving, among other surprises, a suitcase stuffed with cash.
