Don't Bother

I should have known better when I saw only 25 ratings. This book is nothing more than this guy talking about himself. He is not a psychologist so I don't know why I thought he'd be able to help me "master my psychology" (eye roll). I listened to about half of it and finally realized everything he was "shouting" at me was common sense, at least for me.

Read, don't listen!!!

I am a big fan of this series and have read the first 7 books. Since I enjoy the series so much, I thought it would be great to listen to the next in the series while at the gym. I tolerated for 6 chapter and then finally couldn't take it anymore! The narrator/performer was horrible!!! It almost sounds like a robot is telling the story. Not a lot of emotion portrayed and words pronounced wrong leaving me guessing what exactly was happening. At one point I was questioning if the narrator's first language was even English because it was so lousy. Anyway, I deleted the audible version and went back to my trusty Kindle to finish the story. I will not be listening to anymore books narrated by this person.

Story
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

I tried to read this book and could not relate to the characters. On suggestion, I downloaded the audible version. WOW! Once I started listening I didn’t want to stop. The story came alive for me. I will definitely sit down and READ this story again some day.
