Story
It looks like just another gray March morning in the tough urban district nicknamed Nowhere when seven lives converge. Any one of them could have a dark motive. Any one of them could be walking into a trap. When the fog lifts, it will all be much clearer - that a single, shattering act of violence has marked each of them forever.

Spoiler Alert: Gratuitous Sex! Otherwise Good Book
Reviewed: 06-16-17
I struggled to finish this book. I would have loved this book if not for the over the top profanity & gratuitous sex scenes that were so long. That was the only thing that kept me from rating this book all 5 stars. If you enjoy steamy sex & you won't mind then you might enjoy this story.

The narrator is golden and brought this book to life. I had literally forgotten I'd read it repeatedly. This is one classic that'll never get old. I fall in love all over again each time I read it, but the narrator was a match made in heaven!

Story
St. Louis in 1880 is full of ghosts - mangled soldiers, tortured slaves, the innocent victims of war - and Jacob Tracy can see them all. Ever since Antietam, when he lay delirious among the dead and dying, Trace has been haunted by the country's restless spirits. The curse cost him his family, his calling to the church, and damn near his sanity. He stays out of ghost-populated cities as much as possible these days, guiding wagon trains west with his pragmatic and skeptical partner, Boz.
