I liked the book overall but can’t help but feel like some of it should have been left on the cutting room floor. I like long books but this was a little much. Good overall though.

John Keagan is the best. What else can I say. From the time I read The Second World War, I have lived his work.

This is why you have a professional narrator, read audio books. There is nothing better than a true story even if the victory at the end is comparatively small compared to the big picture. Amazing story.

A sad tail of what bad decision making mixed with drugs can turn into. I was glad when this one ended. I couldn’t take another scam or “sting” or shady deal. It’s too bad ole Craig just couldn’t stay in Kansas and make the best of it. Sounds like he could have had a great life instead of persistently trying to be something he could never be.

The book basically dwells on the disappearance of one person and his father’s heroic, albeit not so well thought out, quest to find his son. There are other vanishings discussed in the book but the book always returns to the father, Randy’s search.

There are always going to be a few bad apples for sure in any organization. It does make you wonder though how many other things have gone on that we don’t know about as civilians. At the same time however these men go out to do a very difficult job and have been asked to do that job for very long period of time. I think at some point there are going to be some negative consequences.

This is one of the best books that I have listened to out of them all. Even if you only have a passing interest in history or the British Navy, this is book tells a long a storied tale of life at sea. It’s very well read and thankfully many hours long. I highly recommend this book!

About Face is an engaging and entertaining book that tells the story of a true American hero. The book is long and entertaining the whole way. I was sad when it ended. I wish the were all this good. The narrator is fantastic as well!

I know these things are all about dollars and cents but it’s nice to hear books that have a bit more production value to them than just one narrator take it or leave it.

This seems like it should be a really big story and it seems like there was a lot of work that went into writing it but, I just couldn’t get into it. Not bad but I don’t think I would buy it again.
