I loved it so much! This is going to be a repeat listen for me. I read a lot, but don't very often reread. The characters are deep and full of nuance. I love the theme of redemption that runs through all three of the books in this series. The ending of this one was so satisfying. I can't say enough nice things about this book and the performance. Enchanting!!!

I loved the twists and turns. However I figured it out very early on. I kept going for the satisfaction of a happish ending. I wanted to see how everything works be revealed. I was severely disappointed. This book broke my heart.

Story
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

I'm not a fan of horror so unfortunately I stay away from most of Stephen King's works. I did however very much enjoy The Langoliers. I absolutely love this book! For me, the only thing that would make it more perfect is if the language was a little more G instead of nc-17.
