I'm ashamed to say that I had never read this book before now. It has quickly made it's way up the ranks to become one of my favorites. This is really well written with quick witted and well developed characters. I love Anne's snark! One day, when I have children of my own, this will be a staple in my house. Such a classic!

This was my first Roald Dahl read and I loved it! Kate Winslet read the characters splendidly! I wish she read more books because I would buy them in a hot minute.
