Story
Irene Steele shares her idyllic life in a beautiful Iowa City Victorian house with a husband who loves her to sky-writing, sentimental extremes. But as she rings in the new year one cold and snowy night, everything she thought she knew falls to pieces with a shocking phone call: her beloved husband, away on business, has been killed in a helicopter crash. Before Irene can even process the news, she must first confront the perplexing details of her husband's death on the distant Caribbean island of St. John.

Story
Millions of online fans have flocked to Susannah B. Lewis's hysterical, take-no-prisoners rants about her pet peeves in everyday life. Now, in How May I Offend You Today?, Lewis turns her trademark humor to ordinary events that work her nerves - from people who wear T-shirts with indecent images to public displays of affection in the plumbing aisle of Lowe's - while keeping a wry eye on herself and her own temptation to vent grievances "like a teenage girl in overalls and Birkenstocks."

In true Susannah fashion, she made me laugh &, yes, shed a few tears but more importantly, she made me stop & think about how I live my life. Am I always living in a pleasing way for our Lord & Savior? Certainly, words to make you stop & think, while going through this crazy thing called life! Thank you Susannah for a wonderful afternoon spent listening to you!!

A Book that Made Me a Better Person

FANTASTIC!! Best Book I've ever read! A MUST READ!
Reviewed: 01-17-13
This is by far the BEST book I have ever read!! I can't believe I haven't read it before now and that it wasn't required reading in school/college!!! Hugo's writing style took a little getting use. Julie Rose's translation was great and Guidall's narration was great!!! The story was overwhelming!!! I absolutely couldn't quit listening - even though some of the "history" was long but by the end of the book it was so well worth it!!! Now that I am finished, I feel like I have lost a friend - what will I do w/myself!!! Even though this is so long, you WILL NOT regret spending your time with a story and characters who will make you look at life in a different way. This is a book I will never, ever forget!!

Story
New York Times best-selling author Philippa Gregory presents a new and unique view of one of history's most intriguing, romantic, and maddening heroines. Biographers often neglect the captive years of Mary Queen of Scots, who trusted Queen Elizabeth's promise of sanctuary when she fled from rebels in Scotland and then found herself imprisoned as the "guest" of George Talbot, Earl of Shrewsbury and his indomitable wife, Bess of Hardwick.
