Story
Total F*cking Godhead is the complete story of the complex and enigmatic artist, Chris Cornell. It's the riveting account of a blue collar, high-school dropout emerging from Seattle, Washington, to become one of the greatest singer-songwriters and voices of his generation. With input from people who knew and worked with him - together with Cornell's own words - the book recounts in great detail the rise of his immortal band Soundgarden as they emerged from the 1980s post-punk underground to dominate popular culture in the '90s alongside other Seattle bands like Pearl Jam.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book, as I usually prefer autobiographies read by the author. Total Fcking Godhead gave me a deeper understanding of Chris Cornell, his bands, the music industry, and the Seattle scene. While I wish there had been more about his personal life, the book was both nostalgic and cathartic, especially since I grew up in the grunge era. The narrator did a great job, making it an engaging listen on Audible.

Book Review: Troublemaker by Leah Remini
Reviewed: 01-08-25
Leah Remini’s Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology is an engaging and eye-opening autobiography that offers a raw and honest glimpse into her fascinating life and her experiences within Scientology. As someone who knew little about this religion beforehand, I found it both educational and riveting to learn about its inner workings and its impact on Remini’s life.
Remini does an exceptional job narrating the audiobook, bringing her wit, emotion, and personality to every chapter. Her candid storytelling keeps the listener entertained and fully immersed, never allowing a dull moment. Whether she’s recounting her rise in Hollywood, her complex family dynamics, or her ultimate decision to leave Scientology, Remini’s voice is both authentic and captivating.
The book is not only an entertaining memoir but also a thought-provoking exploration of resilience and personal courage. For anyone curious about the celebrity culture surrounding Scientology or simply looking for an engaging autobiography, Troublemaker is a must-read. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend the audiobook for an even more personal experience.

I really enjoyed this book. I finished it in about a week. I am also a geriatrician and working in Obesity Medicine. I like this new paradigm of muscle of being the organ of Longevity. I've read so many books on health and wellness. There were a lot of great pearls of wisdom in this book. I like that it is evidence based. There's so many different opinions on diet and the information in this book made a lot of sense to me.

Short audio book with good advice
Reviewed: 06-03-23
Short audio book with good advice and tips. Not incredibly detailed but there are some good nuggets in the book. It doesn't take long to finish it. My biggest complaint was it refers to some resources that were not included in the audio version. Most audible books will have a PDF however this one is lacking a PDF file with some of the goodies.

I didn't buy this for a while due to a lot of the bad audible reviews that I read. I liked Ready Player One so much I decided eventually to go for it. I'm glad I did. It has the same narrator which I feel did a great job in Ready player One. The story line kept me entertained and it had a lot of great 80s references.

Great Primer To Longevity Medicine
Reviewed: 04-04-23
I found this to be a helpful book.
It's solution for longevity combines lifestyle, common supplements, not so common supplements and cutting edge/pioneering options. It also gives a lot of resources on how to further evaluate health through diagnostic testing and a set of questionnaires inside the book.
The book comes with a PDF and also a website. I ended up buying that paper book as well for a quick reference. I really liked that Mark Hyman read the book. There were a few instances where the audio was obviously dubbed and sounded a bit funny but it didn't really distract from the content. I feel Mark Hyman does a great job of simplifying complex topics and making it accessible to us.

I found this audible book to be very enjoyable. It is a bit outdated but a lot of the research in these areas is slow to change. I will listen a second time. The biggest annoyance was a medical disclaimer after every chapter. I think one at the start of the book would suffice but I'm not a lawyer. If you are looking to improve your health and body composition, I think this is a good book for you however it may be a bit advanced in some parts for people without any background in this area.
