Story
At just under six foot in his socks and weighing in at 14 stone, Ronan Brady is a solid slab of rarest Roscommon meat. He has a natural tendency to throw himself about - some would say recklessly, others would say enthusiastically - into whatever he sets himself to. As a teenager, he wanted to play football for his county and become a teacher. Ronan achieved his dream when he took up "flying" as a hobby. It transformed his life, taking him to heights he never dreamed of, performing in the hit show Riot. Worlds Apart is an open, humorous account of Ronan’s journey.

Refreshingly honest and entertaining
Reviewed: 07-27-21
Ronan Brady pulls no punches in what is an amazingly open and honest telling of his own story. There are so many things for the reader/listener it is hard to pick one thing to call out. That said, the way he has described the challenge of reducing our own bias in or toward LGBTQ+, masculinity, the 'straight' world, and just plain old life is nothing short of eye opening. From sportsman to artist is a major shift and Ronan has not only done that but also been able to put it into words that are accessible to all. [props to the ghost writer as well; team effort well done.]

Story
The image of the Baron de Steuben training Washington's ragged, demoralized troops in the snow at Valley Forge is part of the iconography of our Revolutionary heritage, but most history fans know little more about this fascinating figure.

Interesting insight into a key figure of American history. His sexual past completely glossed over and could have added another layer of complexity to the man.
