Story
Thinking outside the box resulted in the best night of my life. Until I discover the man I spent it with is my new boss. Attending a secret party where clothes are optional wasn’t a life goal of mine. But when the exclusive invitation ends up in my mailbox by accident...well. Who wouldn't be curious? It's not like I'm going to do anything. The handsome stranger I meet has different plans. One glance across the crowded party and an hour later we're stretched out on silk. No names and no regrets. But I’d forgotten there’s always a price to pay for pleasure.

How did I sleep on this for so long?!
Reviewed: 02-17-25
I had this in my Audible library for MONTHS and yesterday I finally gave it a go. I was looking for something light hearted that I wouldn't get thaaat attached to, since I was coming out of reading a romance novel that I had really loved and also had go to work this whole weekend. But *guess what*. I tackled five flights of stairs a few times instead of using the elevator just so I could squeeze in more listening. If you are usually annoyed by the usual Billionaire behavior (I'm not, but some people are), this may be a good choice.
I was especially distracted, and not in a good way, listening to the last chapter, which featured reading amid loud swallowing and sharp breath intakes; idk if I had overlooked that while climbing stairs. So the narrators were not outstanding, and the story is 3.5-star at best, but it does the trick.

This was a delightful listen. I loved how, even though I could see some details coming, there were a few twists to keep it interesting. I laughed out loud, felt with Lucy all her feelings, rooted for her. If there was anything missing at some point, the narrator filled every single gap so vividly that it almost felt like watching a movie. Did not expect to like this so so much.

Story
It’s 2006. After a string of rejections from men who tell her they could never, ever, ever see her “that way,” awkward third-grade teacher Micaela Blei signs up for a mysterious course called “The Divine Feminine,” and feels like she might have found the key to the perfect life. Turns out if you’re an A student, you can get an A in anything–including men. Pretty soon she’s learning to "conjure" her desires with vision boards, flirtations, and even a daring jumbotron viewing party for her, ahem ... "divine center."

Picture this: I am awkward af, struggling a little with adulthood, up to date with intrusive thoughts and self doubt. I literally bump into someone in the street, she spills her coffee (a cold brew thank goodness, because its all over both of us now), and all her stuff drops to the ground. I feel my neck eczema flaring and my cheeks, burning, so awkward; my hands, pits and feet start to get moist. I apologize profusely, help her gather her belongings, scratching my neck every few seconds, and beg her to let me buy her another coffee. I ramble on about how it would relieve my stress-induced eczema if she'd let me, promising to let her go immediately after. She tells me her name is Micaela, she is a little nervous but nice; she cracks a joke and makes me laugh. (I'm picturing all this in a smaller town since I would run away from a stranger that acted like I had in this scenario in a big ass city). We talk a little more and I realize I may just have found a kindred spirit.
Now, seriously: it's not as much a "performance", more like someone who is genuinely baring her story. The way she reads makes you feel like a good friend is telling you what she's been up to over a few beers. It's pleasant and you crack up from her holding back laughter. At times, she is holding back tears and you want to hug her.
Consider giving this one a shot.

This series kept me company during endless commutes and chores. Thunder Point and its stories have a special place in my heart, and Oregon is now in my bucket list.

I'm not sure I would have enjoyed that much if not for the audio. The last few chapters were crowded with last minute conflict resolution and the developments lacked the strength that I had found moving in previous Thunder Point books.

I laughed, cried, chuckled, sniffled and was overjoyed to have been invited to the ride that has been Kelly Bishop's life. Rewatching Gilmore Girls as an "adult" made me appreciate the depth of Emily's character, but mostly made me curious about the formidable actress playing her. What a treat it was to finally satisfy that curiosity, and getting a glimpse of her career and the paths she took along the way was delightful. I could not recommend this audio more if I tried, and I already know it will be among my best books of 2025.

No-nonsense executive Naomi Reyes can't believe she let her boss manipulate her into babysitting Donovan Taylor, the most insufferable creative director of all time. Worse, she'll be trapped on a private island with him, while a bevy of gorgeous models vie for a coveted chance to grace the cover of M-Class Magazine's inaugural Swimsuit Edition - and, if the office rumors are true, an equally coveted place in Donovan's bed.
