If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed. On May 17, 2014, Admiral William H. McRaven addressed the graduating class of the University of Texas at Austin on their Commencement day. Taking inspiration from the university's slogan, "What starts here changes the world," he shared the ten principles he learned during Navy Seal training that helped him overcome challenges not only in his training and long Naval career, but also throughout his life; and he explained how anyone can use these basic lessons to change themselves - and the world - for the better.

Long ago, I read my first Mrs. Pollifax mystery adventure. Now I love listening to them on Audible.
Dorothy Gilman writes beautifully, making me feel for Mrs. Pollifax and all her good characters. Barbara Rosenblat, the narrator, astonished me with her incredible range of voices.
This book made me feel like I had spent some time in Hong Kong.
Actually, I had a long flight with layovers. This was my perfect time to escape reality and sit back & relax with Mrs. Pollifax.

I've always admired and esteemed Judge Clarence Thomas, even through the turmoil of becoming a Supreme Court Justice .
It was then that we first ever heard of him.
Now, we feel like we really know the man on a completely different level.
This book was worth my time to read it twice.

At some times it was easy to listen, learning about the times and about the Kennedys. My heart was broken hearing about Rosemary's birth experience.
I would recommend it, if you like to be brought into a new perspective of Rosemary Kennedy. At first, I thought "why God?". By the end you will appreciate what she gave to her family and others that has touched our world.

How did a boy from small-town New York become the world’s most successful writer? How does he do it? He has always wanted to write the kind of novel that would be read and reread so many times that the binding breaks and the book literally falls apart. As he says, “I’m still working on that one.”

Loved the stories. They were short quick glimpses into his interesting life.
Some rough language that I had to overlook mostly when he was quoting someone.
so, because of that I couldn't share it but if I had a way of beeping those few words out, I'd love to share it. I personally live in a world of very little crude language. Others may not even notice.
This book made me like him for himself, other than his just his writing.
Thanks to Jesse Watter's for mentioning it.

Story
As Adolf Hitler and the Nazis seduced a nation, bullied a continent, and attempted to exterminate the Jews of Europe, a small number of dissidents and saboteurs worked to dismantle the Third Reich from the inside. One of these was Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a pastor and author. In this New York Times bestselling biography, Eric Metaxas takes both strands of Bonhoeffer's life—the theologian and the spy—and draws them together to tell a searing story of incredible moral courage in the face of monstrous evil.

impactful with a joyful ending
Reviewed: 05-28-22
We listened through the well done book reliving life under Hilter through Bonhoeffer's story. But dealing with stressful situations in our own lives we delayed listening to the ending. It would be too depressing right now. 2 months later we decided to "bite the bullet" and finish the book.
What a joyful surprise we got. We don't want to spoil it for you. All we can say is that we are thankful to God for his kindness in Bonhoeffer's life as well as our own.
The ending made us thankful for Bonhoeffer's bold faithfulness to the end. We want to be like him.
