Story
Empire of the Summer Moon spans two astonishing stories. The first traces the rise and fall of the Comanches, the most powerful Indian tribe in American history. The second entails one of the most remarkable narratives ever to come out of the Old West: the epic saga of the pioneer woman Cynthia Ann Parker and her mixed-blood son, Quanah, who became the last and greatest chief of the Comanches.

I love history when the author takes the time to tell both sides of the same story with a realistic approach. Gwynne doesn’t tried to hide any of the blemishes that these people have. He tells the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Story
Once, Frank Morgan had a wife and a future on the land - until a rich man with a grudge drove him out of Colorado. Since then, Morgan's taken up the one skill that always came easy - gunfighting - and drifted to a mining town in the New Mexico Territory. But there's nothing easy about two vicious gangs descending on the town and threatening to wreak havoc. With his reputation preceding him, Morgan is elected to stand in the outlaws' way. And with nothing left to lose, he's the last man who will ever back down....

The Last Gunfighter: Drifter was a great book with really good characters and great action scenes. Reprisal was a good sequel, but book 3: Ghost Valley felt like a copy and paste of book 2. Book 4 makes up for book 3 though. All in all though a great series and a good price for the bundle of the first 3 books.
