I can’t say enough about this series. Ilona Andrews never disappoints and the narrator is spot on.

This reads like a Netflix horror movie that misses the mark — it has all the ingredients but isn’t really scary.

What the actual hades… ugh!! THE END…. Just wait a minute.

Ok before that…. I loved the narrator. I know people complained that she wasn’t the original but this book isn’t about the inn and Dina, it’s about Maud, her sister, so the voice should be different.

Back to the end…. Holy moly… it’s not a true cliff hanger because the story ends but damn if it doesn’t open a door.

I love the narrators; as always they were awesome. I’ve read a few Lauren Blakey books and they are a light, loving read. But I felt like I got the cliff notes of this book instead of the novel. It left me wanting more substance.

The Deal Audiobook By Stella Gray cover art

The audio performance was wonderfully done. These are two of my favorites voices. The book on the other hand.... the female lead is VERY young but more innocent than believable for this day and time. Her innocents in all aspects of life just got boring and tiresome. I’m continuing with the series hoping that at some point she turns the corner.

I have given this series 4 stars all the way through because the narrator is wonderful!! She had a lot of people to portray and she did a great job.

The writing was wonderful... story line was twisted (which I like) BUT I don’t feel like we got it all wrapped up. The situation with the Emily’s mother was just glossed over... brief mention that she was gone. I fell like that situation was a diversion but still was waiting for the knock down with her mom... al least more than we got. But still it was a pretty good trilogy. Definitely worth the time.

MM’s books are a one click for me. I love all the series more so because if you listen carefully enough there are tie-in’s to other books that you only know if you’ve read them all. It gives depth to the story —it’s like knowing a secret that not everyone will know.

I had the audible so I listened non-stop. I just couldn’t turn it off. White Knight needs to come out soon because that was one hell of a cliff hanger. I love that Cannon got his story because as much as it seemed he betrayed Creighton’s trust (his half brother and the story is a previous book) he loved him. I hope there is some resolution there also.

The narrator was great!!

The story..... well I found the female character too naive to be 21 years old. I can buy in to the fact that she is a V but the her doe-in-the-headlights approach to EVERYTHING was annoying. Most of the time the story just trudged on .... even in the end... when I was expecting a climax to make me want to read the next book... it just fell flat. However, I try to give ALL authors of series 2 shots so I’ll read the next book too just to see if the series picks up.

These books are expertly narrated. Each characters voice are distinct and the emotional inflection is spot on!! Bravo!!

However!!!, the epilogues are killers. Ms McAvoy ensures you have no choice but to keep reading. She is a sly one!
