this is my first Battle tech book which seems weird cuz I've been playing the game forever at first I was annoyed that a book about battle tech had so few Mechs in it, but the story and the characters won me over it is well worth the read.

Slow burn but interesting...

I am forced to agree with the previous review that I feel like there could have been more communication between the author and the cover artist since it looks like nobody in that cover picture from the board game is in the book. Also given what we know about the board game characters the cover seems to offer a cherry sherbet fuel adrenaline junkie boom boom pow pow zappy zap fun fight. It looks like Black opps laser tag on ecstasy. That flaw aside, I really enjoyed this book. It has the seeds of an interesting story arc for the future.

spoiler alert this book has the worst ending ever

chapter 23 sucks it is the worst literally the worst payout for the end of an adventure ever and I want to say that it is a testament to Kevin Hearne's writing ability that I care enough about the characters to be this upset and I guess that's true but gods below that was a bad ending. That is the end of my enjoyment of the iron druid series

I get that I'm the product of 80s and 90s fantasy media but this guy could read the Napanee, IN penny saver, and make it seem like a magical adventure chocked full of whimzy, oh further more Jason Isaacs and Jude Law need statues of themselves, battling over the date of the universe for preference.... I liked the book.

it seems odd in this day in age of Star Wars to be rooting for the empire. Asimov pulls it off nicely though normally a collection of short stories various time. Seems to disjointed but everything pulled together and just gives you this great sense of scope.
