Every spare moment I could find I was listening to this book. I took the long way home from work, I took the dog on extra long walks. I sat next to my son playing fortnight without complaint (with ear buds), all thanks to this book. I am irrationally sad it has ended and I have to wait for book 8.

Story
Some people greet the day with open arms. Sheriff Sunshine Vicram would rather give it a hearty shove and get back into bed, because there’s just too much going on right now. There’s a series of women going missing, and Sunny feels powerless to stop it. There’s her persistent and awesomely-rebellious daughter Auri, who’s out to singlehandedly become Del Sol’s youngest and fiercest investigator. And then there’s drama with Levi Ravinder—the guy she’s loved and lusted after for years. The guy who might just be her one and only.

The vampire Wulfe is missing. Since he’s deadly, possibly insane, and his current idea of “fun” is stalking me, some may see it as no great loss. But, warned that his disappearance might bring down the carefully constructed alliances that keep our pack safe, my mate and I must find Wulfe—and hope he’s still alive. As alive as a vampire can be, anyway.

Story
Running a small-town police force in the mountains of New Mexico should be a smooth, carefree kind of job. Sadly, full-time Sheriff - and even fuller-time coffee guzzler - Sunshine Vicram, didn't get that memo. All Sunshine really wants is one easygoing day. You know, the kind that starts with coffee and a donut (or three) and ends with takeout pizza and a glass of chardonnay (or seven). Turns out, that’s about as easy as switching to decaf. (What kind of people do that? And who hurt them?)

Nothing good ever comes from drinking a box of wine alone. So when I decided to entertain my drunken self by setting up some hand-me-down podcasting equipment and reading the steamy parts from romance novels, I never thought anyone would actually listen. The fact that I admitted my huge crush on my sexy next door neighbor made the whole thing even more mortifying. But sometimes life surprises you, and that’s how my podcast, Heidi’s Discount Erotica, was born. Now I, Heidi Larsen, a sweet former kindergarten teacher in Waconia, Minnesota, lead a scandalous double life.

I never thought I'd move to New York. I certainly never expected to live in a mansion, rent free, with five super hot roommates. But none of those things surprised me as much as discovering the truth about my destiny, the revelation of the ancient power flowing through my veins and how it changes my life. I am the Raven Queen.

It was ok, but even 6 books for 1. Meh

So it’s not bad. The narration is good. Especially the male narrator but Morgan, the female lead is whiny and irritating at times. She has sweet moments, like when she is talking about Sam and Bunny but she isn’t relatable. I know it’s a paranormal fantasy book but it should be semi relatable. The first book will give a little whiplash, it jumps, one minute she is normal the next she is the incarnation of The Morgan. Also it is contradictory, she needs the guys to absorb the darkness and sometimes she freaks out and needs them to take her right there and then the next minute 2 months go buy and she hasn’t been with one of her “mates”.

I never expected a midlife crisis. Sure, I'm over 40 and married, but my kids are grown and moved out. Then my husband asks for a divorce and my whole world crashes. But I am not about to give up. I am ready to tackle my do-over; my chance to become the me I've always dreamed of. Starting with moving into my late grandma's cottage and adopting a new kitten. However, my new life is a little odder than expected. Old books suddenly appearing in my house. Neighbors going missing. A supposed lake monster and a strange man who likes to skulk around with an axe.

Naomi was dealt a bad hand but she is just to much of a scatter brain for me.
Reviewed: 07-05-20
The main character is a nice person who was dealt a lot of crap-tastic things in her life but instead of building her up, she has let it break her down. Her level of anxiety is too much. Also, I have a issue with the flow of the story. There are too many contradictions. For instance at one point Naomi ask’s what happened to the old mill and a character says that it shut down 10 years ago or so. However, later on in the book Naomi who hasn’t been to the town in 20 years says the last time she was at the mill was right after it shut down. If she was there after it shut down and that was 20 years ago, why would she ask someone what happened and they say 10 years ago it shut down. It is a petty thing but there is more than one of those little quirks in the book. The story isn’t bad, it’s very slow in the beginning and gets a little better but all in all there is no real spunk or suspense and it is hard to relate to Naomi when she is so over the top about everything.

Story
My name is Mercedes Athena Thompson Hauptman, and I am a car mechanic. And a coyote shape-shifter. And the mate of the Alpha of the Columbia Basin werewolf pack. Even so, none of that would have gotten me into trouble if, a few months ago, I hadn’t stood upon a bridge and taken responsibility for the safety of the citizens who live in our territory. It seemed like the thing to do at the time. It should have only involved hunting down killer goblins, zombie goats, and an occasional troll. Instead, our home was viewed as neutral ground.

Very Good. Warning this gives some of the story away.

I think the book starts out awesome, fizzles in the middle and ends well. The issue I have is in the details. We don’t know what has happened between Michael and Bethany Ann. We don’t know what the heck is going on while she is “asleep” and then we don’t hear the interrogation between her and the Vampire in Romania. I think those details would have taken the book from very good to awesome.
