Story
Having somehow convinced Lady Annika Jenoure to marry him, all Finlay Ashowan wants to do is settle down, cook some good meals, and enjoy a quiet life in Daxaria. But fate has different plans. Fin’s father, Aidan Helmer, fire witch and servant of King Matthias of Troivack, has arrived in the kingdom with devastating news: Annika’s brother Charles has been taken prisoner, and the only way his life will be spared is if Annika or Fin goes to plead his case. Given that an attack from Troivack is imminent, there’s no way some trickery isn’t involved in this plot.

Story
When Finlay Ashowan joins the staff of the King and Queen of Daxaria, he’s an enigma. No one knows where he comes from or how he came to be where he is, which suits Fin just fine. He’s satisfied simply serving as the royal cook, keeping nosy passersby out of his kitchen, and concocting some truly uncanny meals. But Fin’s secret identity doesn’t stay hidden for long. After all, it’s not every day a house witch and his kitten familiar, Kraken, take to meddling in imperial affairs.

I want everyone to know that i'm not usually one to give 5 stars, and though it might be persuaded by my just finishing it, I still wholeheartedly believe that this is one of the best books i've read and listened to in the past 2 years. I'm extremely picky about narrators which ends in constant returns but good god is this narrated perfectly. The story itself is silly and fun with little to no stakes involved. There is romance involved, however there's nothing smutty about this book. It still has you kicking ur feet and giggling at times though regardless. If you're needing something simple but still wonderfully written please give Delamhach a chance! I promise you will not be disappointed!

About three things I was certain. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him, and I didn't know how dominant that part might be, that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

Love this series! The narration just wasn't it for me though. I'm an autistic adult with ADHD. If you're someone that struggles with keeping your attention set on something i'd avoid this one and go for the paperback as the tone and voice of the narration loses you so easily. Everyone sounds the same, winy and 12 years old.

Loved the first 2! This last one felt a tad lazy and rushed. Not the ending I was looking for, but that's okay! The first 2 make up for the lack of in this one. Narration was wonderful in all 3. Her voice is soft and soothing and shows emotion when need be!

Very boring and dry. Not a complete waste of time, but not something i'd ever recommend to anyone.
