I have not finished this (becase, life), however what I have read is enjoyable. I'm not giving you a long description and review like I do at times, just go for it. I'll be finishing it when time allows.

Story
On the muddy banks of the Calumet River, a body has been found posed next to a series of mysterious glyphs and bearing wounds from a ritualistic slaying. Chicago detective Addie Bisset knows only one man who can decipher the message left by the killer: her friend Dr. Evan Wilding. A brilliant forensic semiotician, Evan decodes the etchings as Viking Age runes. They suggest either human sacrifice or righteous punishment. But to what god? And for what sins? Only one thing is clear from the disturbing runic riddles: there are more victims to come.

Worth the Read

I loved the character of Dr Evan Wilding, but would like more development of other main characters. The pace of the book and storyline itself was good. It seems as though the author is fairly new although I'm unsure if they are, however I would read this book again. i hope future books continue to develop the characters more, and that the writing itself becomes a bit more advanced.

A Hellhound Named Peaches?!
Reviewed: 09-09-20
This book is not only comical, but it's very well written. If you want a book that will keep you laughing page after page, and will make you forget the world around you for awhile, join Simon, Monty, their new 'gift' from Hades, and other characters in their tribe as they become objects of destruction. Somehow with all the magic and mayhem this book is still down to Earth and although not reality, it's relatively easy to imagine this being real. I often read book one of a series and don't bother to continue with the rest. This series, however, I already expect to be a new favorite.

When she arrives, there is plenty of proof that a young wereleopard killed his uncle in the most gruesome and bloody way possible. As the mounting evidence points to him, a warrant of execution is already under way. But something seems off about the murder, and Anita has been asked for her expert opinion on the crime scene.

Great Change

Although I enjoy the other books in this series and the sexual content of them doesn't bother me, it was really nice to read this book that didn't include all the sex and relationship stuff present in all the others. It was a different side of Anita as well as the other marshals and it showed growth. The writing is well done, and one of the things I have always enjoyed about this book. This book could be read as a stand alone novel almost. I would recommend to anyone who has stayed with this series, or even some newcomers.
