It was the 1st Alex Delaware book. Pretty boring. Had a hard time keeping up. My goal was to start from the beginning so I could listen to the whole series in order. I hope the next one is better and I know there are plenty that I’ve listened to that are great.

Story
President John F. Kennedy once said, “Mankind must put an end to war or war will put an end to mankind.” Today, a new element has been introduced to the preparations—artificial intelligence. The United States, in its quest to rapidly and effectively defend the nation from a nuclear attack, has incorporated AI into its operation plan of response. But what if the artificial intelligence relied upon by the nation’s decision-makers is wrong? What if AI takes the controls of America’s nuclear response? Might it trigger nuclear war without justification?

Respectfully, frighteningly, insightful book

Bobby Akart is definitely one of my favorite authors of all time. He takes a fictional story and relates it to current real life issues. Thankfully this crazy world continues to give him plenty to write about. I’m an audiobook listener and when the book is coming to an end, I get bummed. He does put out books in pretty fast time, and I’m always excited when I get notified about a new book, or series. He also manages to sneak in educational and historical information, of which I may not knowledge. That is much appreciated as well. Thank you Mr. Akart, I can’t wait for the next in this series!!

This book was not nearly as gripping as past books. Not looking forward to the series, as I normally am. A lot is lost, with this new narrator. I don’t care for his reading. Definitely a loss for the author. He was one of my favorites.

Story
Several years ago, an ARkStorm, a once-in-a-thousand-years flood event caused by a series of intense atmospheric rivers, flooded the Central Valley of California from Sacramento to what was once Los Angeles. The weight of the water was equivalent to the volume generated by the Mississippi River times 22. It challenged an already fragile seismic system consisting of hundreds of active faults.

It pains me to leave this review

My review is truly due to the narrator. Kevin Pierce, in my opinion, has spoiled me. I have always given 5’s across the board.
This new narrator was horrible. So horrible, that I couldn’t keep up with the story. I didn’t even finish the last 10 minutes.
I was so disappointed. I have listened to every book Bobby has authored.
