Story
The untold story of Leon Crane, the only surviving crew member of a World War II B-24 crash on a remote mountain near the Arctic Circle, who managed to stay alive 81 days in sub-zero temperature by making peace with nature, and end his ordeal by walking along a river to safety. Part World War II story, part Alaskan adventure story, part survival story, and even part inspirational story, this is what we call " a good listen".

Story
A single company of US paratroopers—calling themselves the "Chosen Few"—arrived in eastern Afghanistan in late 2007 hoping to win the hearts and minds of the remote mountain people and extend the Afghan government's reach into this wilderness. Instead, they spent the next fifteen months in a desperate struggle, living under almost continuous attack, forced into a slow and grinding withdrawal, and always outnumbered by Taliban fighters descending on them from all sides.

SOME GAVE ALL

This story left me wrecked! But, it also left me with a sense of hope. Gregg Zoroya did an amazing job of putting these hero’s lives down for all of us mere mortals to learn about. The saying, All gave some and some gave all resonated with me throughout this story.
I highly recommend you take the time out of your life to read about these incredible men who volunteered to lay down their life for the greater good! Thank you to all the real heroes who volunteer to stand up for this great country we live in.

Story
From the New York Times best-selling author of Christmas Jars comes a powerful story of friendship and faith. Marva Ferguson has a very personal Christmas tradition that happens the day after Christmas. As a widow, the tradition means more to her now than it ever did. Her newest neighbor, nine-year-old Charlee, loves Christmas, too. But her family has fallen on hard times, and things get worse when Charlee becomes critically ill.

I absolutely loved this story. The characters, the highs, the lows, the friendships, and most of all the gifts. The 13th day of Christmas is the best gift any of us have ever or will ever receive. Because I don’t want to give anything away, I will let you open the door on the advent calendar for the “26th” day. Accept it, and it’s yours. Forever.

Considering everything going on in the world these books have caused me and my friends to discuss plans of what we would do in the case something like this happens. Isn’t that what a great book should do? Transport you and make you think...well, it’s working. Now on to the final book in the series.

A Must Read

This is a great story based on actual events of how the system is harmful and deadly when all involved don't follow the rules and do their jobs as they should be done. Proof that it could happen to anyone. Well written, well read, well worth your time to read or listen to. Enjoy! Don't neglect to listen to the author's note at the end. Insightful and interesting.
