Loved this story and it was told so well. So many lessons that have come out of wars.. wish more people would take the time to listen.

In the first quarter of the book I was not sure I was going to finish it. Language was awful. But I am sure glad I did not put it down.. it had my full attention after that. Well done! 👍

I loved this story. We all have history of our grandparents or great grandparents on what they had to do to survive in the depression years. This story is one that is really interesting about a smart, intelligent woman who did what she had to do to survive. With that choice she also lost much. Story told by her granddaughter is really worth reading or listing too. Looking forward to reading Kimberly’s next book coming in April. 2024.

Very well told story of women’s life contained. Can’t even imagine the pain they had to also go through wrapping up toes and feet to make them small. Crazy

This is beautifully written. Adding as a must read for book club. Know there will be a lot of different thoughts on right and wrong.. what would you do if it happened to you on all sides?

I read a lot of different WWII stories on how the nazis stoled the Jews lives. The loss of families, homes, and the terrible tortures and deaths of millions. This story of the young man who remembers seeing such a horrific tragedy of deaths of his mother, sister, and father and so many others. Amazing that he survived! Beautifully written. Thank you for sharing this again and rewriting it to bring it back for current generations to read. I honor you Elie Wiesel! May God bless you for keeping the faith and sharing your story to keep it alive.

So Sad… but so real in todays world. So many children who survives a loss of both their parents due to drugs and crime are put in foster care. Some come out doing well. A lot more end up like their parents due to alcohol, drugs, crime and so poor.

Wonderful story and Dick Hill as the narrator did an excellent job. I think if I read the book I would not have pictures the characters the same. Well done Mr Duncan and Mr. Hill for very entertaining stories and message. 👏👏
