I liked the first 2 books in the series and look forward to the 3rd. Excellent pacing, character development and world building. Important characters perish so don’t get attached. Excellent action, suspense and combat vividly described. Overall, well done !

Story
Like a dark tide, the Horde is slowly conquering one nation after another, and a great migration of peoples has begun fleeing westward before the enemy's advancing armies. No one has been able to stand against the might of the Horde. But the Horde has never faced the power of a Roman legion. Cast adrift in this strange, fantastical world, so unlike the one he knew, Karus has been given a number of tasks by his god Jupiter, known in this world as the High Father. Karus's holy mission and mandate: retrieve a dread artifact and form an alliance with the peoples of this world.

A well written book full of adventure and excellent story telling of the 9th Legion’s fictional adventures. The narration was excellent as well as the pace of the story. I cannot wait for the next book in this saga to be published.

Excellent, well paced, well written, and departs a message full of wisdom. One can be offered the world but will lose their soul in the process . The battle with Demo Gorgon was epic and one of the best parts of the book.
