Yes, a different narrator, but a good read.
Revisado: 02-26-21
Most of the bad reviews have to do with the narrator change. Mr Dove does a good job keeping the vocalizations as close to Mr. Daniels read as possible. Halfway in, I had to remind myself that it wasn't Luke Daniels.
I read in an interview somewhere that Mr. Kloos stated that if he had to have Luke Daniels do the narration, the release would had to have been delayed by as much as a year. Luke Daniels is just that much in demand. Even with the change, the release came several months after the print edition.
Give it a fair shake. Eric Dove was in a tough spot and pulled it off well.

I found the journal at work. Well, I don't know if you'd call it work, but that's where I found it. It's the lost journal of Nikola Tesla, one of the greatest inventors and visionaries ever. Before he died in 1943, he kept a notebook filled with spectacular claims and outrageous plans.

The plot is among the type that I enjoy, but the extra salty language just ruined it for me.

Skip it. Not like the earlier stories.
Revisado: 04-18-16
What disappointed you about Cold Barrel Zero?
I thought it might be a good thriller story like the earlier works (The 500, The Directive) but it was some shoot 'em up with medical advice. Almost as if the author wanted to show off some new found medical knowledge.
What three words best describe Peter Coleman’s performance?
Not the right narrator for the type of story.
Any additional comments?
The download was not chapterized nicely. Playback showed 10 chapters but there were 50 some in the book. Almost as if the audio editor was lazy and just left the breaks where the CD version changed discs.

The job falls to a man they have named Frank Morganan agent who stood out as a recruit at Quantico and whose skills resemble those of the legendary Vietnam assassin. The other soldiers claim Frank’s abilities as a sniper and a tracker border on the supernatural and are more than willing to complete this mission with him.

Not much of a plot
Revisado: 09-26-14
What would have made Pashtun better?
Better plot development. The book is written in a simple retelling of events style. I finished it, but it was a real snoozer to plod through.
What three words best describe Sean Runnette’s performance?
Sean Runette is good at what he does. It was the only reason I forced myself to finish.

Talk about a mysoginistic pig!
Revisado: 04-24-14
What disappointed you about Without Fail?
The story couldn't mention a female character without remarks of checking out her, umm, attributes, in a way that would get you at least slapped if not hit with a sexual harassment suit.
Have you listened to any of Dick Hill’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Dick Hills narration is quite fitting to the detective genre. I enjoyed that at least.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I just couldn't finish it. Too much male chauvinist pig remarks.

Tries to take on too much
Revisado: 04-24-14
Would you try another book from TW Brown and/or Andrew McFerrin?
not likely.
What could TW Brown have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Should have picked just a couple of characters and stuck with them in more depth. There were just too many to keep track of and I just had to keep slogging through.
Any additional comments?
A very dark rendition of the zombie genre. The worst aspects of mankind are front and center.
I much prefer Mark Tufo's lighthearted approach.
