Whether straight line or road course, asphalt or dirt, no matter what track your life is on this book will help you get geared up.
Bryce is the real deal. He may not be living your dream, but he is making the most out of his. That's the guy I want to be my crew chief as I navigate the human race.
When your life has more shifts than a Fast and Furious movie, turn to "Geared for Life" to find some direction and insight.

please pass along to audible I will no longer be reviewing books. in the past we were allowed to just grant stars. now I'm forced to type something. a title. 15 words. 7 unique words. To all authors, narrators, producers and anyone else involved. audible did this to you.

awesome book as always. even better than the last one. my only complaint is that as an Iowa boy it drives me nuts to hear you pronounce Elkader. it's pronounced "El - kay - der". not El - kuh - dur. small point for sure but still.

the first book and part of this one are all from Sheriff Duke's pov. Then suddenly, we start switching between him and his wife. I'm grateful for the alt viewpoint but why in the middle of the second book? The narrator's character voices are sometimes so close together it's hard to tell them apart. Pretty well written story. Interesting new names for cities. I'll read more.

. . . I don't have to wait very long for the next installment. They aren't the most complex books ever written but very captivating. I have a lake house not too far from Saucer Holler.
sure would like to meet the author some day.

is AMAZING!! I've listened to every book with no regrets. Can't wait for the next book. As a fellow Ozarkian I have no problem with the mental picture of "Saucer Holler". Mr Boyd is a true wordsmith.
Bring on the next one!!

I read these books as a child and hadn't given them another thought in 30 years. Very well written for children/young adult books. There are a few historical errors that MY big brain won't let me miss (erector sets didn't come out until 20 yrs after this timeline and in rural America more specific rural Utah, 99.9% of individuals didn't have home phones until the 50's) but these aside, I highly recommend this series to anyone.

This series is surprisingly good. I have enjoyed the author in other works but I was still pleasantly surprised how well written and captivating these books are. It's no a shoot 'em up or a Reacher/Swagger but damn if it isn't just a good all around read.
I very much need a few more books in this series.
