This true story is masterfully recounted and narrated very well. A reminder that we should never forget the courage and fortitude of the heros of the greatest generation and the French resistance and the horrible atrocities of the Nazis and the Gestapo.

I am a huge Sherlock Holmes fan and fell in love with this wonderful reimagining of the characters in those stories. The narration is also spot on.

The story is okay. It finishes stronger than it starts. The writing is very stilted and makes me feel as if the writer doesn't think I am very bright and able to keep up with the details about places or characters from page to page.

Memorable characters that are well-drawn with all their eccentricities and foibles. You come to care for them and what happens to them as much as the author (who reads the story) obviously does.

Very early 20th century mystery. Feels a bit dated. Not intrigued enough to continue on with the series.

Fascinating history of the life in 1950s Docklands of London as well as the medical practices of that time told through the eyes of some very interesting characters, the midwives who would have witnessed it all. Very well done!

Story is a bit far-fetched but worth a listen. Good well-developed characters. Very likable protagonist.
