Story
It’s hard to find an employer who doesn’t ask too many questions about my past. So I thank my lucky stars that the Garricks miraculously give me a job, cleaning their stunning penthouse with views across the city and preparing fancy meals in their shiny kitchen. I can work here for a while, stay quiet until I get what I want.

The narrator speaks too soft, and without any emotion. I really wanted to finish this book, but I just couldn’t. Too dull, and listless.

Story
The Willie Lynch Letter and the Making of a Slave is a study of slave making. It describes the rationale and the results of Anglo Saxon's ideas and methods of insuring the master/slave relationship. The infamous Willie Lynch letter gives both African and Caucasian students and teachers some insight, concerning the brutal and inhumane psychology behind the African slave trade.

I wanted to listen to the entire book, but I just couldn’t. I abhor the word “nig….”. I understand that this was written by someone in 1712, but listening to this narrater repeat it several times was just too much.

Not Good
Reviewed: 05-29-24
I’ve never watched the TV show, so I wasn’t aware of this Judge letting the litigants speak out of turn, and shouting. And as far as I know, lie detector results are not admissible in court, because they are not reliable. So this felt like chaos, and I just couldn’t get through a second episode.

Needs a Different Narrator
Reviewed: 02-01-24
I really wanted to listen to this book, but I would have preferred not having to listen to the same narrator throughout the book. A female narrator would work better for the female narratives, and also, a black voice would have been better overall, as well.
