Execellent, fascinating
Revisado: 10-22-24
One of the best audiobooks I have ever listened to. The story is gripping and intelligent, I call now stop listening.and , Particular love the narrator. He has a charming voice and a great ability to change it to reflect the various characters, imitating women old people voices, and imitating accents. Fantastic.

Historia
Nearly two weeks early, on March 3, 1947, in the maternity ward of Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, New Jersey, Archibald Isaac Ferguson, the one and only child of Rose and Stanley Ferguson, is born. From that single beginning, Ferguson’s life will take four simultaneous and independent fictional paths. Four identical Fergusons made of the same DNA, four boys who are the same boy, go on to lead four parallel and entirely different lives. Family fortunes diverge. Athletic skills and sex lives and friendships and intellectual passions contrast.

Historia

Sweeping journey across the 19th century
Revisado: 12-31-22
William Boyd has weaved a fascinating tale of the many lives that an adventurous English man may have lived in the 19th century. The attention to details of the daily life in the various environments where the story takes place composes an entertaining and engaging tableau.
It is very remarkable the role of the narrator and its astonishing ability to recreate the various accents in which English is spoken as well as to dramatized the dialogs. One of the best performances in audio books I have listened.

I, as a passionate music lover, truly enjoyed this course. While not short, professor Greeneberger makes it interesting, and even funny, without losing depth in its explanations, on which I always learnt new things, or new approaches, even of the composers I was familiar with.
Highly recommended. I feel privileged to have listened to it. Mi love for music has become even stronger...

Historia
Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of Ardennes 1944 by Antony Beever, read by Sean Barrett. On 16 December 1944, Hitler launched his last gamble in the snow-covered forests and gorges of the Ardennes on the Belgian/German border. Although Hitler's generals were doubtful of success, younger officers and NCOs were desperate to believe that their homes and families could be saved from the vengeful Red Army approaching from the east.

Historia
The Second World War began in August 1939 on the edge of Manchuria and ended there exactly six years later with the Soviet invasion of northern China. The war in Europe appeared completely divorced from the war in the Pacific and China, and yet events on opposite sides of the world had profound effects. Using the most up-to-date scholarship and research, and writing with clarity and compassion, Beevor assembles the whole picture in a gripping narrative that extends from the North Atlantic to the South Pacific.

Excellent history book
Revisado: 01-07-13
I have read almost all of Anthony Beevor production, and i have to say that this is the one I have liked the most. The fact that I 'read' it in audio book form this time did not diminish the power of the narrative. The speaker is fluent, knows how to adapt his tone (and his pronunciation) to the story, and makes the many hours of the book pass quickly.
With his trademark mix of the macro events analysis, with the many minute details of the down to earth reality of the war, told in a matter of fact way, Beevor has composed a powerful picture of the unspeakable horrors of the war, and how life became so, so cheap. And at the same time he lets the reader appreciate the consequences of the different leadership styles, and the difficulty to make decisions with imperfect information while balancing conficting forces and interests.
So be aware, this book may leave you a strong impression that will stay with you for a long time.
