Story
For Erik Reece, life, at last, was good: He was newly married, gainfully employed, living in a creekside cabin in his beloved Kentucky woods. It sounded, as he describes it, "like a country song with a happy ending". And yet he was still haunted by a sense that the world - or, more specifically, his country - could be better. He couldn't ignore his conviction that in fact the good ol' USA was in the midst of great social, environmental, and political crises.

Audiobook misses a lot

I was confused b¥ the audiobook. A friend read the book and there's special layout and formatting that guides the reader. Unfortunately those "guides" don't exist with the narration...which was dry and boring. I had difficulty discerning his actual trip experiences and all of the history he piles on.

I am not a sports fan...

I am not a sports fan! I'm reading books that will hopefully give me an idea of what makes someone such an avid sports fan. This book is written by a sports fan who doesn't realize his audience may consist of non-sports fans. I listened to the audiobook and there must be a total of 30-minutes of recited stats for various pro athletes. I can't even remember the context but it's like listening to adults talk in a Peanuts television special. “AUDIBLE 20 REVIEW SWEEPSTAKES ENTRY”

I was an object for someone to use and abuse. For eighteen years I was not allowed to speak my own name. I became a mother and was forced to be a sister. For eighteen years I survived an impossible situation. On August 26, 2009, I took my name back. My name is Jaycee Lee Dugard. I dont think of myself as a victim. I survived...."

Story
Before Liz Lemon, before Weekend Update, before Sarah Palin, Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: A recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've always suspected: You're no one until someone calls you bossy.

I don't know if I would have enjoyed the book as much if I'd read it. Listening to Tina read her own words...it's just so real and honest...and very, very funny. I'm anxious to recommend the book to friends who are
