Computer voices?
Reviewed: 12-02-21
Good stories, and some of them are certainly read by actual performers. I can swear that some of these stories are read by computer generated voices though - or else some of these readers have terrible rhythm. Still, all of them are absolutely possible to listen to.

Weirdest narrator ever
Reviewed: 12-04-17
The story is a classic and I was happy to find it here for a very affordable price. However, there were several times I thought the narrator was a robot. His voice is pleasant, but ... HE ... speaksinweird ... rhythms like a ... BAD ... Shatner! Impression.

Good in spite of the performance
Reviewed: 06-01-17
I had to struggle to get into the first book in the series, because of the performance. Now I'm hooked on the great story, but I still really don't like the performer much. His accents are odd and the tempo stilted.

Good performance, but the editing cuts words off in an annoying way. Kitchen becomes kitch, this thi and so on.

I loved the book just as usual. Narrator makes Locke/Jean sound a bit old though.

Story
Magnus Chase has always been a troubled kid. Since his mother's mysterious death, he's lived alone on the streets of Boston, surviving by his wits, keeping one step ahead of the police and the truant officers. One day, he's tracked down by an uncle he barely knows - a man his mother claimed was dangerous. Uncle Randolph tells him an impossible secret: Magnus is the son of a Norse god. The Viking myths are true. The gods of Asgard are preparing for war. Trolls, giants and worse monsters are stirring for doomsday.
