Story
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

I loved the book, will definitely read the rest of the series. It started out a bit odd in a fun way and the fun never stopped.

I enjoyed the book
Reviewed: 07-10-23
I liked the journey and the characters, I was a little surprised when I first started listening because the story is similar to Pokémon. After getting over my initial shock, I enjoyed the story and I will continue reading the series.

Story
Tom Segura is known for his twisted takes and irreverent comedic voice. But after a few years of crazy tours and churning out podcasts weekly, all while parenting two young children, he desperately needs a second to himself. It’s not that he hates his friends and family — he’s not a monster — he’s just beat, which is why his son’s (ruthless) first full sentence, “I’d like to play alone, please,” has since become his mantra.

Story
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

This book was a great source of insight into the reasoning of the extreme left as well as why these reasonings are flawed. The author has an engaging voice and reads the book very well, I enjoyed listening.

I set out to learn to be a better communicator not just in my home life but in my personal life as well. I quickly learned how my withholding from my wife was due to me not feeling loved. I have now learned to identify when she is expressing love for me and in return have made efforts to fully discover and appreciate her love language. I have seen changes in my children based on my wife's and my relationship improving as well. This is a must read for everyone.
