Historia
The holiday film A Christmas Story, first released in 1983, has become a bona fide Christmas perennial, gaining in stature and fame with each succeeding year. Its affectionate, wacky, and wryly realistic portrayal of an American family's typical Christmas joys and travails in small-town Depression-era Indiana has entered our imagination and our hearts with a force equal to It's a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street.

still one of favorite holiday listens
Revisado: 11-20-23
I've listened to this many times and it never gets old. It's so light hearted and warm. A bit different from the movie, obviously, but no less classic and merry. This will forever be a holiday listen for me!

not a mystery/suspense novel
Revisado: 08-15-23
It may just be me, but I saw the ending "twist" coming a mile away. I was about halfway through, maybe less, when I figured out the whole thing. The main character is a whiny, not my favorite. The story isn't horrible, it's just super predictable. No mystery, no suspense.

Roland Deschain and his ka-tet are bearing southeast through the forests of Mid-World, the almost timeless landscape that seems to stretch from the wreckage of civility that defined Roland's youth to the crimson chaos that seems the future's only promise. Followers of Stephen King's epic series know Roland well, or as well as this enigmatic hero can be known. They also know the companions who have been drawn to his quest for the Dark Tower: Eddie Dean and his wife, Susannah; Jake Chambers; and Oy.

Historia
After recovering from a near-death experience, Charlie Payne's connection to the dead seems to dry up overnight. But that doesn't stop old ghosts from trying to commune with her. Or a clever serial killer from targeting her and the whole witch community. When a mysterious letter arrives, the anonymous sender proclaims only one thing: I killed your parents. I killed your aunt. Watch your back, witch.

this narrator is just awful
Revisado: 03-31-23
The stories are amazing, the narrator however is terrible. All the women constantly sound like they are either on the verge of laughing or about to cry. The men.... ugh. Tom sounds like he has some sort of speech issue or is trying to speak VERY SLOWLY so that someone can follow, lol. Same with Uncle Jack. it's just painful to listen to. If you can get past that, the story, as are all the stories in this series, is great!

not happy with the new narration
Revisado: 01-25-23
The story is still excellent, just like the previous books, but the new narrator gives the characters completely new personalities, which kinda throws it off, for me. Wish they would have stuck with the same narrator.

I didn't want it to end! the narrator is incredible. all the characters come to life so wonderfully. it's written flawlessly, and keeps your intrigue until the very last word. I will be listening to this again in the future, and probably again after that!
