Story
Celebrating her forty-fifth birthday at her local pub, popular podcaster Alix Summer crosses paths with an unassuming woman called Josie Fair. Josie, it turns out, is also celebrating her forty-fifth birthday. They are, in fact, birthday twins. A few days later, Alix and Josie bump into each other again, this time outside Alix’s children’s school. Josie has been listening to Alix’s podcasts and thinks she might be an interesting subject for her series. She is, she tells Alix, on the cusp of great changes in her life.

This is my second time listening to this story and it is just as good as the first. The story really draws you in and the voice of each character was perfectly matched. In the end when you think you have it all figured out a few questions get raised and leaves you guess. I love all of Lisa's work.

Story
Cass is having a hard time since the night she saw the car in the woods, on the winding rural road, in the middle of a downpour, with the woman sitting inside - the woman who was killed. She's been trying to put the crime out of her mind; what could she have done, really? It's a dangerous road to be on in the middle of a storm. Her husband would be furious if he knew she'd broken her promise not to take that shortcut home. And she probably would only have been hurt herself if she'd stopped.

I don't usually leave comments for my reviews but felt I needed to this time. In the first half of the book, I kept thinking that I will definitely only leave 1 star and wondered why I wasted my credit. I initially thought it was because of the writing style but later realized it was because of the main character. I found her really annoying as none of her decisions made sense to me and she seemed to be stuck on this 1 event and unable to move forward. The book did eventually get better though, the story got interesting and the main character gained some sense. Unfortunately, this turn for the better was after having only 2hrs of the book left. I suggest that you try this for yourself. If you will like it is really a flip of a coin but I do suggest you finish it if you have started.

Story
Melville Heights is one of the nicest neighborhoods in Bristol, England. It’s the sort of place where doctors and lawyers and old-money academics live. It’s not the sort of place where people get stabbed in the back 30 times with a kitchen knife in their own homes. Someone must have seen something. Newlywed Joey Mullen, for example, recently returned from four years of working in Ibiza. She and her husband, Alfie, are eager to find a place of their own in her hometown. But Joey finds herself distracted by the man next door, Tom Fitzwilliam.
