What would have made House of Suns better?

Characters you care about would have helped. Way too long !
Too much flashback. More action and less scientific explaining.

What could Alastair Reynolds have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

How the clones began the long journey should have grabbed your interest at the beginning.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment that I wasted many hours of my time trying to like this story.

Where does Aftertime rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

There were plenty enought zombies for me and mayhem and romance. The fort becomes more realized each outing, but no place is ever safe with the dead walking. Can't wait for number 3.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Aftertime?

The chase of the rescuing mini van ending at the bridge.

Which scene was your favorite?

Rescuing the two girls from the truck in the ditch.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The rich Texas bitch was surely well rounded.

Any additional comments?

There will always be the evil living, too, wanting to take from those who work hard.

What would have made Leviathan better?

The pitch to the publisher probably sounded good: lonely teens from different backgrounds unite to bring peace to a world at a First World War stage in history using gene altered creatures and advanced machines. Mix a little Romeo and Juliet with Darwin, Around the World in 80 Days in a balloon, a walking biped man attached machine from Avatar, the Victorian lady from

What could Scott Westerfeld have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The story setting should have been on a more different planet and not try to spoonfeed British/European history to us again; I bet this writer teaches middle school history in Britain. Stop borrowing and think beyond the future multiplex cinema sales (which I hope never happens for this one) to future generations wanting to read the story.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Alan Cumming?

maybe

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment for sure. It sounded like a publisher assigned his friend the history teacher the task of coming up with a long

British kids might like this, but I bet Americans will be bored stiff.
