Story
Legend. Myth. Nightfall has long been rumored to be nothing more than whispers on the breeze. If only it were so. In those halls of darkness, where children are taken from the world and given to shadow and dust, Asher is destined for that same fate. He will become the myth. He will become the legend. He will become the whisper of Death itself.

People don’t understand writing
Reviewed: 06-05-22
For every review that says it doesn’t make sense why Asher doesn’t automatically fall right back into his assassin ways for every fight, didn’t pay attention to the story. After he abandoned Nightfall he was trying to find himself fully and was in turmoil the whole time. He also was trying to punish himself as well as try to atone for the things he had done. It shows actual character growth that most people don’t seem to understand nowadays because they want everyone to be one note. This book is great and I am ready to get onto the main series about Asher and I’m hoping it is just as good as this book. This is totally worth the credit.

Story
Cyrus was only twelve years old when his gods were slain, his country invaded, and his parents—the king and queen—beheaded in front of him. Held prisoner in the invader's court for years, Cyrus is suddenly given a chance to escape and claim his revenge when a mysterious group of revolutionaries comes looking for a figurehead. They need a hero to strike fear into the hearts of the imperial and to inspire and unite the people. They need someone to take up the skull mask and swords and to become the legendary "Vagrant"—an unparalleled hero and assassin of otherworldly skill.

Great Book but Imani isn’t right
Reviewed: 04-22-22
I loved this book and Devante Johnson did great but I dreaded every time the female characters came up because Imani Parks could not voice the characters well at all. If they keep her maybe she won’t sound so monotone in the next book and actually convey emotion through her reading. Honestly I can’t wait for the next book this is my third series I’ve started by Dalglish and I’m ready for more, hopefully we won’t have to wait long.
