While the author had some valid points about processing emotion and not just skipping over it and slapping a smile on your face, the message is the same old narrative of the left about the privilege of some and the victimhood of others. The solution is always the same. The great white savior needing to lift out those who are victims of a system that holds them down. If this is your world view, you will enjoy this book. If this does not feel right for you, then I’d not recommend this book for you.

While I agreed with much of the content, I stopped listening after multiple anti-America remarks and quoting Carl Marx. Not my cup of tea at all. I cannot recommend it

Great read! Author explains how our early attachment styles with our families of origin affect how we relate to God. He explores how we can get skewed messages about the nature of God coming from a background of childhood trauma or even just less than perfect lives. He provides the reader with exercises on how to repair and better navigate this important relationship and finally experience how God not only loves us, but also likes us. He delights in us!
