Story
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Congratulations to J. R. Moehringer the author!
Reviewed: 01-20-23
J. R. Moehringer was able to use the English language to tell Harry's story. It was well read by Harry.
What I learned:
1. Papparazzi and the British press need to take a look at what and how they publish. The British people (and probably the rest of the world) need to ask why the buy what is published! I'm now stopping reading and watching!
2. Harry's family is as dysfunctional as all our families, or at least mine.
3. The Royal Family and their staff's are dysfunction - one must question again their value to the UK or the Commonwealth.
4. Harry argues the value of the Royal Family to the UK. However, other countries (France, Austria, Germany, Russia, Spain, Italy to name a few) are swarming with tourists visiting their Royal Palaces, etc. In fact they provide better accesses to their history. Like it or not the UK is really the owner of what the Royals consider their due reward!
5. Harry is no question a brave war veteran - he made the most of his Royal status to be accepted to Sandhurst and serve as an officer in the British Army. However, without his Royal status his education he would not have been accepted. Good on you Harry to find something you were good at - at maybe the cost of PTSD.
6. Interesting to read how Harry lived with the other rich youths of the English aristocracy - lots of fun places, lots of alcohol and drugs.
7. The pollyanna views of both Harry and Megan as they began and live their relationships - with the press etc.
8. As British born, before reading I still saw value in the Royal Family - now I see none.
9. A good book - but count me out of buying a second!

Story
Deep in the muddy fields of the Lincolnshire Fens, a teenage girl is found wandering, delirious, claiming to have been drugged at a party. Metres away, the drowned body of another girl is found on an isolated beach. And all this on a small stretch of land where, nearly 10 years ago, the shocking disappearance of a young girl remains an open case.

Story
The story is seen through the eyes of Uhtred, a dispossessed nobleman, who is captured as a child by the Danes and then raised by them so that, by the time the Northmen begin their assault on Wessex, Alfred's kingdom and the last territory in English hands, Uhtred almost thinks of himself as a Dane.

Great story line - drama building - characters you can actual see through the words. Completely far out - AND completely believable. Characters you can love, hate, loathe - like a game of table tennis going from one side to the other.
Want to visit Florida to visit the scene of the action.
If you don’t believe my review - read the book, then tell me I was right!

Story
D-Day, June 6, 1944, and the 76 days of bitter fighting in Normandy that followed the Allied landing, have become the defining episode of World War II in the west - the object of books, films, television series, and documentaries. Yet as familiar as it is, as James Holland makes clear in his definitive history, many parts of the OVERLORD campaign, as it was known, are still shrouded in myth and assumed knowledge.

A history everyone knows - told not only from the Allied and German perspectives but also from the US, British, Canadian and French perspectives. Lots of shades of gray - not much black and white. Time gives perspective - understanding brings honesty.
Excellent book and performance.

Story
Experience a bold take on this classic autobiography as it’s performed by Oscar-nominated Laurence Fishburne. In this searing classic autobiography, originally published in 1965, Malcolm X, the Muslim leader, firebrand, and Black empowerment activist, tells the extraordinary story of his life and the growth of the Human Rights movement. His fascinating perspective on the lies and limitations of the American dream and the inherent racism in a society that denies its non-White citizens the opportunity to dream, gives extraordinary insight into the most urgent issues of our own time.

Hard to listen to - but very necessary to understand how African-Americans feel about their history. The issues are the same - but like a looking glass everything is reversed.
No simple solutions - but clearly society has not come far since Malcolm was assassinated - but clearly no one is happy with the current situation.
White people need to understand the history that has been ignored for to long.
This book was ear and eye opening. Highly recommended.

Took a while to get used to Peter Berkrot’s presentation - it was distracting compared to past narrators (John Pruden and Dick Hill) in this series.
Got used to Peter’s style - but preferred previous narrators.
Story was excellent as always once I got used to the narrator.
