Story
Historians have long told the story of America’s birth as the triumph of Jefferson’s democratic ideals over the aristocratic intentions of Hamilton. Chernow presents an entirely different man, whose legendary ambitions were motivated not merely by self-interest but by passionate patriotism and a stubborn will to build the foundations of American prosperity and power.

Of course, my interests in the Hamilton family legacy were stoked when I took my wife on her birthday, to see the play. Now, I feel as though this entire document as written and told by the narrator should be converted into an entire years high school American history curriculum. There is so much revealed here about our American Heritage that foretold not only the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, but even the world of American politics up to this minute in 2018, that every student or patriot should know these words. Thank you to all who participated in the marvelous literary masterpiece right through to Mrs. Hamilton herself. Her efforts resonate soundly through these centuries. My sincere hope is that even in the face of their exposed human frailties, that we all honor and truly appreciate the courage, sacrifice and example set by one of our most vital founding fathers and his family. This book is worth every minute of time to read and listen...

Must be a lot of work to "act" & produce such a complex story. Fot any fan, it's a great listen. Thank you. All the intertwined back stories & timelines are set just well enough to keep the imagination of the movies & t.v. series in mind, along with great representation of the character voices. Using this for a great listen, while I work. Wish there could be hundreds of hours more just like it; but would settle for just another trilogy. On to Book 2!!!

Don't let the title of The Killing School put you off. This well-crafted monument to the forces fighting against evil is a vivid recount of slices in time that form a mosaic image of the conflict the entire world was thrust in just after the turn of the century. Men & Women from civilized nations, working together to systematically put down the foundations of death & oppression in our so called modern world. Hard work is an understatement when describing these stories but, in a way, there is a necessary job being done and with extraordinary valor by these high quality human beings. I'm thankful to be introduced to a few of them through Brandon Webb's encounters as documented in The Killing School. We all should all find & embrace sources of honest information like this book, so we can achieve a clear insight into the realities of our warrior class that protect our freedoms and their comrades. Thank you, all...
