Historia
The number of people who will become first-time supervisors will likely grow in the next 10 years, as Baby Boomers retire. Perhaps the most challenging leadership experience anyone will face isn't one at the top, but their first promotion to leadership. They must deal with the change and uncertainty that comes with a new job, requiring new skills, and they've been promoted from peer to leader.

Misleading Title
Revisado: 10-16-18
This was a huge waste of time. The book is essentially the narrorator reading the chapter name, a one paragraph explanation of the chapter title, has a worthless "bonus bite", points you to the Bud to Boss website for further explanation (and up-sell), or directs you to Google for more information.
There is literally one 5-minute chapter on how to manage prior colleagues or 'buds'.

Expected more
Revisado: 12-19-17
Mostly dull. The entire first half could be skipped. A print copy would be more useful than audio.

Some good stories, that's about all
Revisado: 08-18-17
Full of some entertaining stories but does not offer any actual "action steps" to develop/replace habits.

Historia
Ben Horowitz offers essential advice on building and running a startup - practical wisdom for managing the toughest problems business school doesn’t cover, based on his popular ben’s blog. While many people talk about how great it is to start a business, very few are honest about how difficult it is to run one. The Hard Thing About Hard Things is invaluable for veteran entrepreneurs as well as those aspiring to their own new ventures, drawing from Horowitz’s personal and often humbling experiences.

Title Is Misleading
Revisado: 11-30-16
Would you try another book from Ben Horowitz and/or Kevin Kenerly?
Probably not
What was most disappointing about Ben Horowitz’s story?
The title is misleading. This read more of a poorly organized biography with little information for managers or business owners. I ended up turning it on 1.5 speed so it would be over faster. I expected more information on business solutions and strategies. Nothing new here. As others have said, I don't understand why the author felt it necessary to include random rap lyrics at the beginning of chapters. Hearing the narrator use a "gangster" voice to read these was cringe-worthy.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Kevin Kenerly?
Sure
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Hard Thing About Hard Things?
Title it something else less misleading. This is a personal story of his business past, not about dealing with "hard things" and problem solving.
