Story
Theo and Kit have been a lot of things: childhood best friends, crushes, in love, and now estranged exes. After a brutal breakup on the transatlantic flight to their dream European food and wine tour, they exited each other's lives once and for all. Time apart has done them good. Theo has found confidence as a hustling bartender by night and aspiring sommelier by day, with a long roster of casual lovers. Kit, who never returned to America, graduated as the reigning sex god of his pastry school class and now bakes at one of the finest restaurants in Paris.

When nineteen-year-old Fin volunteers to take her secret love’s place in their village’s Finding, she is terrified. Those who are chosen at the Finding are whisked away to Castle Courtsheart, a vampire school where human students either succeed and become vampires, fail and spend the rest of their lives as human thralls, or they don’t survive long enough to become either. Fin is determined to forge a different path: learn how to kill the undead and get revenge for her mother, who was taken by the vampires years ago. But Courtsheart is as captivating as it is deadly.

I absolutely love the characters in this book! What a wonderful ensemble and a mesmerizing world that A.M Strickland creates! I have read SOOOO many vampire fantasy romance books and this one brings a refreshing take on vampires!! Great narrator too!! Highly recommend especially nice since it’s a stand alone, no trilogy to commit to!!

Susan Fletcher weaves a tale of love loyalty & the magic of the natural world

I cannot recommend this book enough for people who find beauty and magic in the natural world. Most importantly the history of the MacDonald clan Glencoe massacre. A tale of remembrance and what it means to be kin. Not your typical witch book and for that I am grateful! The narrator does a fantastic job!!

Great narrator! The world building is intricate but not confusing. Painting a vivid picture with eloquent story telling! I enjoyed the ensemble of characters and loved the LGBTQIA’s representation! Of course the romance is my fav part! Highly recommend if you need a fantasy romance stand alone!
