Story
World-class pediatric surgeon, social scientist, and best-selling author of Thirty Million Words Dr. Dana Suskind returns with a revelatory new look at the neuroscience of early childhood development - and how it can guide us toward a future in which every child has the opportunity to fulfill their potential. Her prescription for this more prosperous and equitable future, as clear as it is powerful, is more robust support for parents during the most critical years of their children’s development.

Supportive family values.

If the sacredness of the family were important we would be a “Parent Nation”.
This book deals with the importance of day one education for infants and how much family and community support is to the ability of child caregivers, (mothers, fathers, their extended families and every other care giver) to give day one and ongoing quality care.
It offers collective solutions to build a ParentNation where taking care of the very youngest makes life so much richer for us all

Story
It’s Gamache’s first day back as head of the homicide department, a job he temporarily shares with his previous second-in-command, Jean-Guy Beauvoir. Flood waters are rising across the province. In the middle of the turmoil a father approaches Gamache, pleading for help in finding his daughter. As crisis piles upon crisis, Gamache tries to hold off the encroaching chaos, and realizes the search for Vivienne Godin should be abandoned. But with a daughter of his own, he finds himself developing a profound, and perhaps unwise, empathy for her distraught father.
