I thought I was a pretty positive-minded and grateful person when I started listening to this book. Well, this book helped me realize how much more so I could experience/feel and express my gratitude. For that, I am deeply grateful! I will now purchase the written version (Whispersync AND hard copy) so that I can really study this book. That's when I KNOW it's a great one--when I purchase it in all formats. If you want to feel happier and be a positive influence to others' happiness as well, this is the book for you.

But empathy, teaches Karla McLaren, is a universal human skill that we can all learn to awaken and use wisely. With The Art of Empathy, you will learn, step-by-step, the art of experiencing through the eyes and hearts of those around you - and to connect with and support them most effectively.

This is one worth studying. For example, she helped me understand boundaries in a deeper way, such as the good boundaries of making tentative guesses, to a person about what she is feeling, instead of assuming it, or telling her what I think she’s feeling. I hadn’t thought before, about being good at making observations (vs making interpretations/summaries/or putting a negative label or emotion to somebody’s behavior) is also having good boundaries. I’ll be listening to this audio again, and I may even buy the written version.
