Story
Dr. Brandt Savage is on sabbatical from the University of Chicago. Instead of doing solo fieldwork in anthropology, the gawky, bespectacled PhD finds himself enrolled in a school where he is the sole pupil. His professor, “Meed,” is demanding. She’s also his captor. Savage emerges from their intensive training sessions physically and mentally transformed, but with no idea why he’s been chosen, and how he’ll use his fearsome abilities. Then his first mission with Meed takes them back to her own training ground.

I enjoyed this book, it was very well written - given to me as a book, not a first choice! I’m used to the Women’s murder club! Also loved the 2 readers instead of just 1!

Hard read…

It took everything in me to finish this book, as much as I love this series - I found it almost unbearable to read! Finally broke-down and pitched the audible because I couldn’t take it any more! Probably one of the worst story lines! I’m not a Yuki fan so for this entire book to be about her with little tidbit about Lindsey and few appearances from the other members of the club— it just dragged on! One thing I will say is JP when will you cut Yuki a break she is seemingly the most Naïve ATA to ever exist! I hope the next book is better!

Finishing this book disappointment-

I’m almost sad to admit that this books was not one I enjoyed, I felt that the story line was shallow and all Over the place- too much going on, no time to delve deep into investing! I also felt that the constant yo-yo’ing of Boxers relationship was annoying- I’m not going to give it away- I just thought it was distasteful and unnecessary!
And of course in the end nothing was really solved leaving this book with more questions than answers!
Sorry JP- this was a big NOPE for me

I thought this book was well written, and while some complained of short chapters I felt it encouraged me to read on… I did feel that the double storyline was unconnected but understood that was how JP could keep the other woman in the story! I mean that’s how life is right? I don’t know why everyone was complaining! Lt Lindsay Boxer is a great detective and I don’t think this was poorly written, I am a huge JP fan, I have read most of the Alex Cross series! The man is Genius I mean how many authors do you know can write

Master of suspense James Patterson continues the Women's Murder Club series with this nail-biter of a sequel to 1st to Die. Four women - a police detective, an assistant D.A., a journalist, and a medical examiner - combine their efforts, risking everything, to catch a serial killer. "As with Patterson's best novels," Booklist says, "the surprises keep coming until the final pages."
