Story
Leaving Earth had been Kyra's idea. Being stolen while in stasis and sold to an arena was not. Fighting for her life every day, plotting her escape, took up most of her time. When she was forced into an intimate situation with one of the alien gladiators, she suddenly had other things to think about.

Nice Story, Lousy Reader
Reviewed: 04-09-15
Would you try another book from Viola Grace and/or Kellie Kamryn?
Yes to Viola Grace - I like her stories, I read them all the time.
NO to Kellie Kamryn. I've now attempted to listen to two stories read by her and each time I have not managed to finish the story due to the poor quality of the narration.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
She did a really bad job of narrating. Read into the mic, eliminate the white noise, get a different studio. In fact.... get a different narrator.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The story was good. I enjoyed reading it. The narrator.....

Story
He had known this day would come. No man could escape the entire might of the Sovran forever. He just found it humorous that it was an enemy of the Sovran that had caught him instead. Bound, kneeling before a queen whom he had hounded for a straight year, he should have been anxious. Or at least a little worried. Instead, a strange sense of relief filled him. It was over. His mad escape from Brindisi's justice was over. "That is a very calm expression on your face, General Darius Bresalier," she observed. Her tone was idle, but her eyes were as sharp as a hawk's.

Would you listen to Kingslayer again? Why?
Yes. A good light read/listen. I have enjoyed all of Honor Raconteur books to date, well written without being too intense or gory.
Which character – as performed by Mark McClain Wilson – was your favorite?
I enjoyed Darius - he was honorable and a good man.
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed the story. It didn't match the description on the summary though, which for me was a good thing as that didn't really sound that appealing.
Its not a heavy read, but a good light read which leaves you feeling happy at the end of it. Basically a grown up fairy tale!

Determined not to remain with her stepfamily, Elena set out to get a new job - and ended up becoming the Fairy Godmother for the land. But "Breaking with Tradition" was no easy matter. True, she didn't have to sleep in the chimney, but she had to deal with arrogant, stuffed-shirt princes who kept trying to rise above their place in the tale.
