Story
It’s 1873, only a few years after the Civil War, and the West is changing. But there is still one town where good citizens can feel safe. When the sheriff of Silver Vein is killed, it’s up to saloon keeper Curly Barnes - an admitted coward - to see that justice is done. Along for the ride are two legendary Texas Rangers, the soon-to-be famous outlaw Johnny Ringo, and a couple of brothers who like to play with dynamite. But after the dust settles, who will be the last man standing?

Story
At the height of WWII, five idealistic young Americans receive a mysterious letter from the OSS, asking them if they are willing to fight for their country. The men and women from very different backgrounds - a Texan athlete with German roots, an upper-crust son of a French mother and a wealthy businessman, a dirt-poor Midwestern fly fisherman, an orphaned fashion designer, and a ravishingly beautiful female fencer - all answer the call of duty, but each for a secret reason of his or her own. They bond immediately, in a group code-named Dragonfly.

Story
Travis Parker has everything a man could want: a good job, loyal friends, even a waterfront home in small-town North Carolina. In full pursuit of the good life, including boating, swimming, and regular barbecues with his good-natured buddies, he holds the vague conviction that a serious relationship with a woman would only cramp his style. Story
The man most hated by the LAPD - a black lawyer who has made his name by bringing lawsuits alleging racism and brutality by police officers - has been found murdered on the eve of a high-profile trial. The list of suspects includes half the police force. And Harry Bosch is the detective chosen to head the investigation. The political dangers of the case are huge. If it's not investigated fairly, the public outcry could make the Rodney King riots look tame. But a full investigation will take Bosch into the ugliest corners of law enforcement.

Horrible reader
Reviewed: 03-05-13
Would you consider the audio edition of Angels Flight to be better than the print version?
Burt Reynolds doesn't do a good job at all. The story is good like all Michael Connelly stories.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Too low of voice.
