Historia
When private detective Agatha Raisin comes across a severed leg in a roadside hedge, it looks like she is about to become involved in a particularly gruesome murder. Looks, however, can be deceiving, as Agatha discovers when she is employed to investigate a case of industrial espionage at a factory where nothing is quite what it seems. The factory mystery soon turns to murder and a bad-tempered donkey turns Agatha into a national celebrity, before bringing her ridicule and shame.

Historia
North Devon is enjoying a rare hot summer with tourists flocking to its coastline. Detective Matthew Venn is called out to a rural crime scene at the home of a group of artists. What he finds is an elaborately staged murder - Dr. Nigel Yeo has been fatally stabbed with a shard of one of his glassblower daughter's broken vases. Dr. Yeo seems an unlikely murder victim. He's a good man, a public servant, beloved by his daughter. Matthew is unnerved, though, to find that she is a close friend of Jonathan, his husband.

A bit of a letdown
Revisado: 09-24-21
Cleeves is heavy handed in her handling of the gay marriage. Over and over she referred to Jonathan as - Venn's husband , his husband, his husband. Yes we get it, they are married and they are lovely people but she doesn't refer to other married characters in the same way.

Historia
The Reservoir follows an unexceptional man in an exceptional time. We see our present-day pandemic world and New York City through the eyes of a former Wall Street veteran, Ridley, as he, in his enforced quarantined solitude, looks back upon his life. He examines his wins, his failures, the gnawing questions - his career, his divorce, his estranged daughter - and questions what it all means and who he really was.

This is my least favorite of the Poldark series. Granted it is a transition story, but it lacked tension and I found it hard to care about the grown Poldark offspring. The ending - what a none event...

Best in the series
Revisado: 11-02-19
I was getting a bit tired of this series. Maybe because I had been watching the TV episodes which follow Graham's work fairly closely. So I knew what was next , so to speak. This book has renewed my interest in these characters and the history of the times they live in. I'm all in for book number 7.
